sunset vibes
The sunsets in Ibiza are said to be among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean Sea region. Without a doubt, they are spectacular and impressive. As is the case with every sunset, we will experience a beautiful range of shades of orange, red, pink, and purple, seducing onlookers with phenomenal views.
So why are sunsets in Ibiza so exceptional? Because in addition to the beautiful views, we will have the opportunity to feel the climate of a hot summer night here. We will be able to contemplate the sunsets accompanied by hippie drums or chill-out or house music from the island. Everyone will find something that suits them.
Here are some of the best sites on Ibiza to admire the sunset.
Ashram bar on Cala Conta
Cala Conta is a wonderful beach, which rather does not need to be introduced, one of the most popular on the west coast of Ibiza, famous for its transparent and crystalline waters, sandy coves and red rocks. The beach is only a 15-minute drive from San Antonio or San José. It is visited by many people due to the lovely sunsets.
Several restaurants are located on the beach of Cala Conta. Sunset Ashram is one of the most characteristic beach bars on the island. It is built with materials that mimic the sand of the sea, which makes it blend in with the surrounding landscape. Here you will take a sip of delicious and refreshing drinks, eat sushi and try many other dishes of Asian cuisine, and listen to good house music.
A good open-air restaurant, covered with a reed roof that resembles a snail’s shell, can boast a very good DJ session. Sounds full of creativity, freshness, partying and, as they say, a bit of madness intertwines with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, in which you will surely feel extremely comfortable and at ease.
Ecological bar „el Chiringuito” on Cala Conta beach
Bar on the beach Cala Escondida (small nudist beach located in Cala Concie) is a perfect example of fun and tranquillity, a good atmosphere and respect for both people and the environment. It is an inspiring place with a soul, which is worth visiting during holidays in Ibiza. The menu of Cala Escondida is based on fresh and local products, always homemade, made in a simple way. Here you can taste one of the best dishes of Berber cuisine, such as hummus, couscous, tajine or fajitas
Magic with a view of Es Vedra
Extraordinary and magical towers on the island of Es Vedrá on the south coast of Ibiza. The rock stirs as much controversy as it attracts people eager to see it. Es Vedrá is wrapped in many urban myths and legends. It is considered the third most magnetic place in the world, the peak of the sunken city Atlantis and the island, which inspired the sirens of Homer’s Odyssey. Although it is highly unlikely that any of them were true, it is most likely that those legends were inspired by the magic of this site. The sunset over Es Vedrá can be seen from different viewpoints on the west coast of Ibiza, from Cala D’Hort beach, pirate tower, cave and cliffs. The view of the magical Es Vedrá at sunset is breathtaking beyond words. It is one of the most photographed places on the island. Hippie Vibes on the beach Benirras
Located in the northern part of the island, Cala Benirrás is home to lovers of the hippie environment. The sound of the drums is the highlight in the sunsets on Benirrás beach. Every summer since the 1970s, hippies flock to the beach to play drums. Along with the hippy markets, it is the best-known hippie tradition on the island.
When is best to go to Cala Benirrás ?
If your desire is to watch the sunset and feel the hippie vibes, then you should go to Benirras beach on Sunday. It is exactly on Sunday when this same place is filled to overflowing with thousands of people dancing, enjoying themselves and bathing in the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Please note that access by car on Sundays is restricted for this reason, so be sure to leave relatively early to find a parking space. It can also be reached by bus from San Antonio.
Las Salinas National Park and the salt flats
Ibiza is not just about parties and beaches. Unlike other Mediterranean islands like Mykonos and Santorini, it is very green and is also home to the Las Salinas National Park. Here you will find beautiful and colourful lakes and salt flats. It is a unique sight, especially at sunsets. With a bit of luck, you will see flamingos here. Salt lakes are one of the favourite haunts of these fine and elegant birds.
Las Salinas National Park is an ideal place for hiking and biking. The park is located near the airport, in the southern part of the island. After actively enjoying leisure, it is worth stopping by for a glass of wine or a refreshing cocktail at one of the beach clubs on Salinas Beach.
„Time and Space” monument
Cala Llentia, in the west of the island, houses a mysterious sculpture made up of 13 basalt columns in elliptical shape. For this reason, this monument is known as “Stonehenge in Ibiza”, however, its real name is “Time and space”. It is the artwork of the famous sculptor Andrew Rogers by order of Guy Laliberté, the founder of Cirque du Soleil. The monument is located near the Can Soleil mansion. Without a doubt, it is an exceptional site to experience a sunset.
Punta Galera
Near Cala Salada beach is Punta Galera. This site is built with rock formations and huge stone slabs, on the surface of which you can sunbathe. Don’t be surprised if you come across nudists here, as it is one of your favourite spots. If, in addition to sunbathing and bathing naked, you enjoy snorkelling at sunset, surely Punta Galera will become your favourite cove. The bottom of the cove is covered in Neptune grass, and below the surface of the water there are many caves to impart the incredible appeal of this place. Punta Galera is one of the best spots for snorkel adventures.
Sunset Strip and Cafe Mambo
And at the end of the list, we have left the icing on the cake, which is “Sunset Strip” in San Antonio. It is probably the best-known part of the island, from which you can marvel at the sunset. It is exactly where the famous Café Mambo and Café Del Mar are located. Both bars belong to the most popular places, particularly if you want to hear one of the famous DJs playing house music.
In addition, many bars, restaurants and places, where there will be enough seats to drink and have something to eat or drink. However, if you want to dine at Café Mambo or Café del Mar, it would be worth reserving a table in advance. Thousands of people come here every day, they sit on benches, rocks and walls to admire wonderful sunsets. Let yourself be carried away by this fabulous moment, which invites you to the wild summer nights in Ibiza. We recommend that you take a long walk from the port of San Antonio to Calo des Moro beach.
