ROUT 1
WEST COST BEACHES AND ES VEDRA VIEW POINT
ROUT – 46 kilometers
San Antonio Bay – Cala Conta beach – Time and Space Monument – Cala Tarida – Cala Vadella – Es Vedra View point – San Jose village – San Antonio Bay
1. Pick up your buggy from San Antonio
After booking a buggy on our website, you need to proceed to the pickup location situated in the bay of San Antonio, where your excursion begins. You can collect your buggy as early as 10 a.m. The route I have prepared for you is approximately 46 km long.
2. Cala Conta Beach
The first stop on the itinerary is Cala Conta Beach, where you’ll find a spacious and free parking area. It’s a beautiful spot that’s perfect for taking some memorable photos. There are also four restaurants nearby, where you can enjoy a morning coffee.
3. Time and Space monument
The next point of interest is Time and Space monument, which you can visit while driving from Cala Conta to Cala Tarida. This place is also called Ibizan Stonehenge. The stones are arranged to represent the solar system.
4. Cala Tarida Beach – swim stop
Following that, you’ll reach Cala Tarida Beach, where you can have a swim stop. Cala Tarida is a sandy and wide beach. You’ll find several restaurants and beach bars here. It’s worth stopping by, taking a dip in the sea, and cooling off before continuing your journey. You’ll find free parking here. Sometimes there’s a shortage of space for cars, but you’ll definitely find some place for a buggy. Renting a buggy is a great advantage, as you won’t have such a problem with parking.
5. Stunning View from the cliffs
The entire route between Cala Tarida and Cala Vadella takes you through a charming coastal villa neighborhood, offering picturesque views. The drive through Cala Vadella is especially breathtaking as the route takes you right along the beach. If you feel like it, you can also stop here. You’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants. Cala Vadella is another wide, sandy beach. On the way, while descending from the cliff to Cala Vadella, you’ll find a viewpoint. Be sure to stop here and take photos with the beach in the background.
6. Es Vedra View Point
From Cala Vadella you can proceed to the Es Vedra viewpoint. Here, you’ll find another free parking area and have the opportunity to capture some truly magical photos. Es Vedra is a magnetic rock that truly makes an impressive impression. It’s best seen from Cala D´hort Beach or the viewpoint. You can find more about the viewpoints to see Es Vedra in the article here. If you feel like it, you can climb the nearby pirate tower or, heading left from the parking area, descend to Atlantis. However, keep in mind that both expeditions require trekking preparation, including comfortable shoes.
7. San Jose town on the way back
For the return journey, I recommend passing through the town of San Jose. You can either follow the same route back or opt for a loop that takes you through San Jose before returning to the Buggy drop-off point. San Jose is a typical Ibizan village with a white church in the centre. It’s not a touristy place, but it’s worth visiting.
If you’re a beach lover, you can add Cala Bassa to your itinerary. It’s a beach located between the town of San Antonio and Cala Conta beach. Additionally, consider including Cala d’Hort, where you’ll enjoy a stunning view of Es Vedra.

The road from Cala Salada beach to the small village of Santa Inés winds its way through a scenic path and almond tree fields. Here, you will also find the typical architecture of Ibiza, with beautiful white houses. Bar Can Cosmi is run by an Ibiza family who prepares tortillas using vegetables from their own garden and fresh eggs.
