Ibiza bucket list
10 things to do in Ibiza
1. VISIT THE NEIGHBOURING ISLAND OF FORMENTERA
There’s a reason this item ranks at the top of our list. Formentera is a small island near Ibiza that has beautiful beaches. It’s worth going there and swimming in the crystal waters. For all the people who like beaches, Formentera will surely be a paradise on earth. You can get there by a ferry or take advantage of the organized boat tours.
2. DANCE UNTIL DAWN
After all, you’re on holiday at the busiest party island, which has held the title of club capital of the world for more than 20 years! There’s no other alternative, you have to dance at least one night. And Ibiza really has a lot to offer. Aside from parties with electronic music, you’ll also find latino, r&b and, of course, reggaeton parties.
3. Have A BATH IN THE SEA AT SUNSET
Swimming in the sea is a pure pleasure and health. The temperature of the Mediterranean Sea in the shallow bays reaches up to 30 degrees. You will certainly not feel cold when you get into the water during the sunset. This is in fact a wonderful feeling. The beach is no longer as crowded as during the day, and a beautiful orange glow is formed on the surface of the water.
4. FEEL THE HIPPY VIBES
In the 1960s and 1970s, the hippie movement became very popular in Ibiza. It was the hippies who made the island famous all over the world. If you want to feel the spirit of “peace and love” then make sure to enjoy the sunset at Benirras beach where hippies play drums until dawn. Moreover, you can meet them at hippie fairs where they sell their handicrafts. You’ll also feel the hippy vibes at the “Flower Power” party in Pachy where you can dance to songs such as “love is in the air”
5. GET LOST IN THE HARBOR
La Marina, or the Marina District in the harbour of the island’s capital, is especially charming during the warm summer evenings. Here you will find plenty of enchanting restaurants and cafés and interesting small stores. Make a trip here after sunset to have some wine or dinner, and you will definitely feel the magic of an Ibiza night. Stroll through the winding streets and take a look at the luxury yachts moored in the harbour. You’re guaranteed to meet disco promoters here who will put on a show and encourage you to visit the clubs – just let yourself be talked into it 😉
6. TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF AT ES VEDRA
Ibiza’s residents say that if they were paid 1euro for every photo taken at Es Vedra they would be the richest islanders in the world. Es Vedra is enigmatic, majestic and attracts us with its vibrancy. It is worth going to the cliffs or to the beaches of Cala d’hort to take a photo on its background. Especially beautiful photos are taken at sunset.
7. TRY LOCAL FOOD
The island’s local cuisine could not exist without seafood and fish. Also, if you are a #fishlover then you will be feeling like a fish in water, a typical Ibizian dish is bullit de peix. It is made for a minimum of two people. The main ingredients of the dish are several species of wild fish. The dish is served with potatoes and vegetables. All of this is topped with a delicious garlic sauce with saffron.
8. HAVE A DRINK ON ONE OF THE ROOFTOPS
Rooftops that are, bars located on the rooftops of luxury hotels. Do you think they are only available to the hotel guests? You are wrong, they are available to everyone. You can boldly come here, have a drink, have dinner and bathe in the pool. Most of them have a rooftop pool. Interestingly, we’ll tell you that from the rooftop located on the roof of the Ushuaia Tower Hotel, you can get a view of the party going on in Ushuaia. Of course, it’s not the same as being in a club, but in case you run out of tickets – it’s an option.
9. REST ALL DAY AND DO NOTHING
Choose one of the 80 beaches on the island, rent a deck chair with an umbrella and just lie there. Relax, don’t make plans, take your time, and lose track of time. Let the sun in the sky show you the rhythm of the day and let the day flow in. We all need such a reset once in a while. And a holiday on an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea is just the right thing for it.
10. MEET PEOPLE
Get yourself inspired by the Southern people’s approach to life. The way they live is filled with laughter and spontaneity. Perhaps Spaniards are not the most successful nation in the world, but they are certainly a happy nation, and somehow the remainder goes. Also, don’t be afraid to smile towards others, chat and meet new people. You will certainly not be faced with a critical look as a response. Trust me in Ibiza you can meet truly interesting people. Also GOODBYE
